"All pieces are hand etched copper or
brass. All designs begin in my sketchbook. After
cutting and cleaning a resist is applied. Each
piece in etched in ferric chloride or nitric
acid. Then another cleaning and each piece is
prepared for various patinas. Sometimes I use
different colors on the same piece to get the
right look. When appropriate I use cold welds
making my own copper rivets. Pieces are finished
with a high quality acrylic spray giving the
metal a perfect satin finish." |
