"I have designed a porcelain formula that melts
into glass at 2300. I use this clay to make
colored neriage sheets. I use the“neriage” as
applique on a background of the same formula.
The finished product is solid high fired glass,
much like fused glass but 1000 degrees hotter. I
stop the firing at the point fusion point. This
way I achieve a glass quilt look and feel in my
pieces. The fused porcelain has the surface of
high fired porcelain without the crazing
associated with pottery." |
